PUBLIC RECORDS AND RECORDS REQUESTS FEES

The Town of Benton firmly believes in the transparency of all records, except those specifically exempted by law. R.S Code 44:1 – 44:42

PAPER COPIES

•  One-sided copies of 8.5x11: $ 0.75 per page
•  Two-sided copy 8.5x11: $ 1.50 per page
• One-sided color copies 8.5x11: $ 3.00 per page
• One-sided copies of legal or executive paper: $ 1.00 per page
• Two-sided copies of legal or executive paper: $ 2.00 per page
• Redacted to copies: $ 1.00 per page

VIDEO RECORDINGS

• Video recordings: $ 10.00 per video
• Flash drive: $ 15.00 each

IN PERSON EXAMINATION OF RECORDS

Members of the public may request to review documents in person at no cost only when the records requested are minimal amount. Requests that require more time to pull, copy for redaction will be charged regular fees. All deposits for records must be paid before starting the record retrieval process.

If the public wishes to scan, take photos, record, or make copies, all the aforementioned fees will apply. In-person examination of records must be conducted during regular business hours and only with a staff member present.

ALL REQUESTS MUST BE IN WRITING.
